Is BOMBANANA! Free? How Much Does It Cost?

This question splits into two different answers depending on which version of the game you mean, and mixing them up is the most common source of confusion here.

The demo is free

The BOMBANANA! demo, available on the official Steam demo page, costs nothing and requires no purchase. It's a full standalone Steam download with its own store listing, separate from the full game, and it's what let 670,000+ demo players try the game during Steam Next Fest in June 2026. The full game price is not yet announced

As of this writing, Official price has not been announced as of 2026-08-18. Third-party trackers estimate $4.99–$9.99 based on comparable indie co-op titles. That's a straightforward statement of fact from Lefto Studio's Steam listing — there's no confirmed dollar figure to give you, and any specific number you see elsewhere that claims to be "the" official price should be treated with skepticism until it appears on the Steam store page itself.

What third-party trackers are estimating — a $4.99–$9.99 range — is based on pattern-matching against similarly scoped indie co-op party games, not on any leaked or confirmed figure from Lefto Studio or TARK. Treat it as a reasonable ballpark for budgeting purposes, not as something you can hold the developer to.

Why the free demo doesn't mean the full game is free

It's a common assumption with games that run a big pre-launch demo campaign: if hundreds of thousands of people already played it for free, why would the full release cost anything? In practice, a free demo is a marketing and wishlist tool, not a preview of the pricing model — the demo covers 7 levels and unlocks a repeatable Free Mode at level 5 (see our demo levels breakdown), while the full release is expected to ship substantially more content behind a one-time purchase, the same structure most premium indie games on Steam use.
