BOMBANANA! News

BOMBANANA! hasn't launched yet, so there's no patch-notes history to report — this page instead tracks the handful of real milestones that got the game from a Next Fest demo to a confirmed September 2, 2026 release date. We'll keep this page updated as new, verifiable news breaks, and it'll turn into an actual patch-notes archive once the game ships. If you're looking for hands-on info right now rather than a history, the demo page covers what's playable today.

Timeline

  1. June 2026

Free demo launches during Steam Next Fest

The BOMBANANA! demo went live as part of Steam Next Fest, giving players their first hands-on look at the three-monkey communication chaos. It shipped with 7 tiers of escalating bomb complexity and a repeatable Free Mode that unlocks at level 5, letting groups drill the same bomb over and over without a run-ending timer.

  2. June 2026

    Demo reception goes viral

The demo caught on fast, pulling in 670,000+ demo players during its Next Fest window. Clips of the blind/deaf/mute communication breakdown — teams shouting mismatched instructions at each other while a bomb ticked down — spread well beyond the usual co-op-party-game crowd, which is also what fueled the wave of unrelated Roblox tributes covered on our is BOMBANANA! on Roblox? page.

  3. Summer 2026

    Wishlist milestone crossed

Off the back of the demo's momentum, BOMBANANA! passed 1,000,000+ wishlists on Steam — a strong signal for a first release from a studio that wasn't a household name going into Next Fest, and a big part of why the game has a confirmed release window rather than a vague "coming later" date.

  4. September 2, 2026

    Full release confirmed on Steam

Lefto Studio and publisher TARK locked in September 2, 2026 as the full release date on Steam for Windows PC. See our release date page for what's confirmed about launch-day availability and what's still unknown, including pricing.

What's still ahead

Between now and September 2, 2026, the main open questions are pricing (see our pricing page for what's known and what's estimated) and whether any additional platforms get announced beyond the confirmed Windows-via-Steam release. Neither has a confirmed answer yet, and we won't guess at numbers Lefto Studio hasn't published. If you want to jump straight into the game before launch, the demo remains the best way to do that — grab two friends, since BOMBANANA! still needs exactly three players and doesn't offer a solo or two-player option, and see our player count guide for why that number is fixed.

After launch

Once BOMBANANA! ships, this page switches roles — instead of a pre-release milestone timeline, it'll carry actual patch notes: balance changes, new modules, bug fixes, and any post-launch content drops, in the same reverse-chronological format. Until then, treat this as the "how we got here" story rather than a changelog, and check back after September 2, 2026 for the first real update entry.
