BOMBANANA! Demo Levels
The free demo is structured as 7 levels of steadily increasing bomb complexity, followed by a repeatable Free Mode once you've proven you can handle the fixed sequence. Here's what that structure actually means for a first-time group.
The escalation
Early levels keep things simple — typically a single module on the bomb, giving your team room to build a basic callout vocabulary without much time pressure. As you clear levels, later tiers stack in more modules per bomb and tighten the timer, which means your team needs to be relaying information faster and more accurately by the back half of the demo than the front. This mirrors what you'd expect from the full game's structure too, even though the exact module roster and difficulty curve of the full release haven't been confirmed yet — see our modules reference for what we know about individual module types like the diamond keypad and switch-and-slider bank.
Because the difficulty ramps within a fixed set of levels, the demo works well as a structured onboarding path for a new group: you're not thrown into a hard bomb cold, and each level gives you one more thing to fold into your team's communication system before the next level adds another wrinkle.
Free Mode unlocks at level 5
Clear level 5 to unlock Free Mode, then use it to drill callouts without burning through the fixed level sequence.
Once unlocked, Free Mode lets you replay bombs outside the linear level progression — useful because the fixed levels are a one-shot climb, but real improvement comes from repetition. If your team keeps fumbling the handoff between the Deaf Monkey and the Mute Monkey, or the Blind Monkey keeps mishearing which button to press, Free Mode is where you fix that without losing your place in the level sequence. Pair it with our tips and tricks guide for the habits that actually move the needle once the basics click.
What happens after level 7
The demo caps out at level 7; there's no additional fixed content beyond that beside Free Mode. For the full bomb roster, full difficulty curve, and whatever content exists past what the demo shows, that's gated behind the full release on September 2, 2026 — see our pricing page for what's known (and not yet known) about the full game's cost.
